Make a difference where it matters most

We are seeking a committed and resilient Pastoral Support Worker (PSW) to join our dedicated pastoral team at Huish Episcopi Academy.

This is a rewarding and fast\-paced role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with a designated Head of Year to support students’ attendance, behaviour and wellbeing, helping to remove barriers to learning so that every student can succeed.

About the role

As a PSW, you will:

Support students on a day\-to\-day basis, particularly those who need additional pastoral support

Monitor and improve student attendance, including follow\-up with families and targeted interventions

Promote high standards of behaviour and inclusion in line with academy expectations

Work closely with Heads of Year, safeguarding teams and external agencies

Support vulnerable students and contribute to safeguarding responses

Deliver and track the impact of pastoral interventions

Assist with reintegration following absence or suspension

What we’re looking for

Has experience working with young people in a school or similar setting

Can build strong, professional relationships with students and families

Is calm, resilient and confident in managing challenging situations

Has strong organisational and administrative skills, including working with data

Is proactive, solution\-focused and committed to improving outcomes for students

Shares our commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
