Part Time Shop Assistant

The role is essentially a zero hours contract \- initially cover for sickness and holidays. However there may be an opportunity for a permanent position. The candidate will be flexible that they can work Monday \- Saturday between 8am and 4pm. The set hours will rotate on a 3 week basis.

Job Duties

· Greeting and serving customers as they enter the store

· Selling baked goods to the customers

· Taking orders in store using the EPOS systems

· Taking orders over the telephone

· Taking card and cash payments

· Monitoring the visual appeal and availability of baked goods on display

· Replenishing the supply of stock on the shelves

· Reporting low baked goods stock to the Baker/Supervisor in a timely manner

· Baking some products when required

· Assisting with store deliveries

· Handling enquiries and complaints or forwarding serious issues to the Supervisor/Manager as required

· Accurate record keeping in relation to daily store operations, hygiene and overall baking requirements e.g. temperatures etc.

· Ensuring that all equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised according to the relevant legislation.

· Supporting Supervisor/Manager with ordering stock and maintaining optimum stock levels

· Filling in for absent employees as needed to ensure smooth operation of the business

· Helping to keep day\-to\-day activities organised

· Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

· Any other tasks and when directed/required by the Supervisor/Manager

Will vary depending on the needs of the business

Salary

Paid hourly at NLW/NMW (reviewed annually each April)

Part\-time hours: will change each week
