Part time Nurse (2 days per week \- 7am to 8pm) required for retirement community in Dublin 8 (20 \- 25 residents).

The Nurse will assume shift responsibility for the nursing care, safety and well being of the residents.

As the clinical lead on shift you will direct HCA, oversee medication admin and have overall responsibility for nursing care.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the provision of a high standard of care to the members of the community of the House of Retreat who need nursing care in accordance with best practice. Recording and reporting all incidents, accidents and complaints.

  • Nurse will work as members of a team in the House, sharing a sense of responsibility and accountability with all members of the community, staff and support staff.

  • Maintain awareness of the privacy and confidentially of each member of the community.

  • Nurse will always act in the best interest of each member of the community ensuring a safe environment for the members of the community and staff.

  • Communicate with relatives and family members as appropriate, in collaboration with the Superior.

  • Responsibilities in the provision of patient care
· Assist where necessary with the activities of daily living.

· Maintain accurate reports and records of the members of the community that require nursing care.

· Monitor, record and report changes in the condition of the members of the community.

· Record medical information and vital signs, as required.

· Consult and co\-ordinate with health care team members; e.g. GP. Public Health Nurse, to assess, plan, implement and evaluate member’s of the community needs.

· Monitor and advise members of the community on diet and exercise.

· Identify and report any health and safety concerns to the Superior.

· Order medical supplies as needed and check same on receipt.

· Administration of daily and weekly medications as required.

· Escort members of the community to hospitals/appointments (e.g. out\-patient clinics) when required.

Pay: €27\.53 per hour
