Part-time lecturer in Cyber Security
The Department of Electronic Systems at The Technical Faculty of IT and Design invites applications for a part\-time lecturer in the field of Cyber Security as per 1 september 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is available for a period of 3 years.

Your work tasks
Developing and teaching in the course Fundamentals of Security and Cryptography at the M.Sc. education in Cyber security at AAU Copenhagen
Your competencies
The applicant must have at least a M.Sc. degree in Cyber security and be able to document professional and teaching experience within the field of Cyber Security. More specifically the candidate must have competencies in concepts, principles and practice of network and application security and cryptography, including various classes of cryptographic algorithms.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as postdoc requires academic qualifications at M.Sc. level.
Who we are
The position will be connected to the teaching tasks of Cyber Security group at Communication and Media Technologies at AAU Copenhagen. The Cyber Security Group at AAU (https://www.es.aau.dk/research/cyber\-security) is a research group within the Department of Electronic Systems, focusing on cyber security from various perspectives. The core focus areas are network security, IoT/OT security, applied cryptography, and machine learning privacy and security. We aim to foster a secure digital ecosystem by advancing AI\-based intrusion detection, developing post\-quantum secure systems, enhancing cyber resilience, and designing trusted computing architectures for IoT devices. Our research extends to lightweight cryptographic solutions for resource\-constrained environments and privacy\-preserving techniques to safeguard data security. Additionally, we explore honeypots for botnet detection and utilize cyber threat intelligence to stay ahead of emerging threats. Through our work, we strive to proactively address cybersecurity challenges and empower the next generation of professionals in this critical field. The Cyber Security Group is leading the teaching activities on the Master in Cybersecurity education, which is held in English, and it includes more than 100 active local and international students. Moreover, the group is strongly engaged in community\-building activities, where the AAU CPH campus is a point of reference for weekly CTFs or ethical hacking activities with tens of participants. The coach of Denmark’s national Cyber Security team, which won the European Cybersecurity Championship in 2022, is a member of the group.
Qualification requirements
Appointment as a part\-time lecturer requires academic qualifications at master’s degree level.
Employment as a part\-time lecturer requires either relevant practical experience at a high level which has not been achieved through an academic appointment at a university or employment in an principal academic position at another university. When employed due to relevant practical experience, you must have in\-depth, up\-to\-date knowledge of the subject/subject's applications that has been gained or will be gained through employment in the profession. Teaching qualifications are included in the assessment of applicants for a part\-time lectureship.
