Upholstery Designs is a well\-established, family\-run independent furniture store in Hull, trading since 1977\. We pride ourselves on offering quality furniture, great value and, above all, a relaxed and friendly experience for our customers.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Furniture Sales Consultant to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people and has a natural ability to build rapport with customers. You don't need to be a furniture expert – although experience in furniture, retail or sales would be an advantage. What's most important to us is your personality, attitude and ability to provide excellent customer service.

The role

You'll be helping customers choose furniture for their homes, from sofas and chairs through to dining furniture and accessories.

Your day\-to\-day responsibilities will include:

• Welcoming and assisting customers in our showroom


• Listening to customers and understanding their requirements


• Advising on furniture, fabrics, sizes and options


• Preparing quotations and processing orders


• Following up customer enquiries


• Working towards sales targets


• Keeping the showroom looking its best


• Providing excellent customer service throughout the sales process


• Working as part of our friendly and experienced team

We are not a high\-pressure sales environment. Our customers are encouraged to take their time and make the right choice for their home. We are looking for someone who can sell confidently while providing genuine, helpful advice.

Hours \& Salary

This is a part\-time position, with hours and working days to be discussed with the successful applicant.

Our showroom is open Monday to Saturday, 9\.00am to 4\.30pm, and the part\-time hours will include Saturdays.

We offer a competitive basic salary plus uncapped pooled commission.

For reference, the realistic full\-time OTE is £28,000–£29,000 per annum. Part\-time earnings will be calculated on a pro\-rata basis according to the hours worked, with the potential to earn additional commission as sales increase.
