PART-TIME CONTAINER LOADER/FORK-LIFT DRIVER

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Part\-Time Container Loader/Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. This role involves loading and unloading containers, operating forklifts safely, and managing materials efficiently within a busy warehouse environment. The position offers flexible hours suitable for individuals with prior warehouse or construction experience, and a strong focus on safety and precision is essential. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth flow of goods, ensuring timely shipping and receiving operations.

Duties

• Operate forklift safely to load and unload containers, ensuring proper handling of materials.


• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including verifying incoming and outgoing goods.


• Manage materials handling using appropriate equipment and techniques to optimise space utilisation.


• Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately.


• Conduct routine inspections of forklift machinery, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.


• Assist with general warehouse organisation, including stacking, sorting, and storing goods.


• Support with construction\-related tasks as required, applying mechanical knowledge where applicable.


• Ensure all loading and unloading activities adhere to health and safety regulations.


• Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.

• Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklifts within a warehouse setting.


• Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable, especially in materials handling or logistics roles.


• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.


• Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction can be beneficial for understanding equipment functions.


• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading and unloading processes.


• Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate inventory management.


• Strong physical fitness to handle demanding tasks in a fast\-paced environment.
