Part 1 Architectural Assistant/Architectural Designer
At A D Practice Ltd, we are looking to hire a Part 1 Architectural Assistant to join our small team of friendly skilled professionals.
We are situated in Wheathampstead, St Albans, AL4 8DT, in a listed mill conversion.
We are a highly motivated award\-winning team, who have gained recognition for both our sustainable achievements as well as our design work. We mostly work locally around Hertfordshire, with clients on one\-off residential projects as well as a little commercial work.
As members of several sustainable building associations and Certified Passivhaus designers, we are passionate about designing buildings that are healthy for both the planet and occupiers. We look to use natural construction materials and renewable energy sources where possible, minimising the energy used by our buildings and setting them sensitively in nature to maximise natural daylighting and enhance local biodiversity.
As a close\-knit practice, you will be valued member of our team at ADP. We will be committed to the professional development of the successful candidate, guiding you to gain the skills to grow in practice, through a variety of work, across the RIBA stages. You will have the opportunity to explore design concepts, produce constructional drawings, attend site visits and client meetings, liaise with consultants within the wider industry, etc.
A successful candidate:
- Recently completed or due to complete Part 1, RIBA accredited degree in Architecture
- Have or predicted a 2:1 or above
- Demonstrate a keen eye for detail
- Demonstrate a proactive and positive approach to problem solving
- Understanding of and interest in building construction
- As we are a small practice, the ability to work collaboratively is vital
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills, to flexibly manage own workload and admin
- Confident communication skills, both written and spoken
- Demonstrate the responsible use of AI
- Strong design sensibility, with a creative flare
- Interest in Sustainable/ Passivhaus design
- Interest in Residential Architecture
- Working knowledge of Revit is preferrable, but not essential
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Edexcel
- Familiarity with Enscape is beneficial
