Paralegal – Military Hearing Loss Claims

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Paralegal to join our Bradford office and support our growing Military Hearing Loss litigation department.
The successful candidate will work closely with our litigation team, solicitors and file handlers to assist with the progression of Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims against the Ministry of Defence. This role is ideal for someone who is professional, detail\-focused and keen to develop their legal career within a busy and supportive legal environment.
Previous experience in Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. However, the candidate should have strong administrative, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting the litigation team and file handling teams with the progression of Military Hearing Loss claims.
- Preparing, reviewing and updating client files.
- Drafting basic legal correspondence and client update letters.
- Assisting with Letters of Claim, evidence bundles, instructions to counsel and litigation documents.
- Requesting, reviewing and organising client documents, including medical records, service records and supporting evidence.
- Liaising with clients, experts, counsel, defendants and other relevant parties where required.
- Updating clients on the progress of their claim in a professional and helpful manner.
- Monitoring deadlines and ensuring tasks are completed promptly.
- Maintaining accurate notes and records on the case management system.
- Supporting solicitors with case preparation, settlement reviews and file progression.
- Ensuring all work is carried out accurately, confidentially and in line with firm procedures.
- Working as part of a team to ensure cases move efficiently through each stage of the claims process.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Previous experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, File Handler or in a similar legal role.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and general IT systems.
- The ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
- A professional and client\-focused approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
