REED FE are seeking a dedicated Skills Practitioner in Painting & Decorating to join a construction department in Surrey. This role involves supporting students in their learning of practical skills both in the workshop and classroom settings.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of a painting and decorating technician:

• Undertake teaching hours as required for departmental cover.


• Produce and prepare learning materials and teaching aids.


• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of learning areas for practical work.


• Supervise and maintain specified areas, ensuring all resources and equipment are in good condition.


• Maintain stock of consumables and issue resources to staff and students as per departmental policy.


• Participate in setting up displays and demonstrations for open days, marketing events, and exhibitions.


• Assist in the supervision and assessment of students, maintaining accurate records.


• Adhere to the College's Health & Safety Policy, ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the role:

• GCSE or Level 2 equivalent in Maths & English (achieved or willing to obtain).


• Qualifications in Painting and Decorating (Level 2 and above).


• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.


• Ability to multitask, prioritise, and meet deadlines.


• Proficient IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Packages.


• Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to work.
