Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Packaging Drinking Water Bottling Plant Operator Maintenance Mechanic Engineer to join our manufacturing team. This role involves overseeing the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of packaging machinery within our water bottling facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth production processes, maintaining equipment, and leading maintenance activities to uphold safety and efficiency standards. Prior experience in electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems is essential, along with strong leadership and supervisory skills. Duties
- Operate and monitor packaging machinery used in drinking water bottling processes, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment including conveyors, fillers, cappers, and labelling machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and PLC\-related issues using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct welding repairs and modifications as necessary to maintain equipment integrity.
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to facilitate maintenance tasks.
- Supervise maintenance schedules and coordinate repair activities with production teams to minimise downtime.
- Lead small teams during maintenance projects, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations while maintaining high standards of customer service within the internal team.
- Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) utilised in automated packaging systems.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience in welding techniques suitable for industrial repairs and modifications.
- Solid electrical experience with an understanding of industrial control systems.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to machinery used in water bottling plants including conveyors, pumps, motors, and valves.
- Proven maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English for effective supervision and team collaboration.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead teams efficiently during maintenance operations.
- Customer service orientation to support internal clients within the organisation effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure.
