Overview

We are urgently seeking a reliable, dynamic and highly organized Oxygen Service Manager to lead our service with diligence, enthusiasm and precision. In this vital role, you will oversee the delivery, maintenance, and safety of our oxygen services, alongside managing a team of volunteers, to deliver a safe and welcoming environment for everyone using our Centre.

This hands\-on position requires a blend of technical competence, stringent safety awareness, and compassionate interpersonal skills, to ensure that this therapy is efficiently managed, empathically delivered, and meets the highest standards. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, foster safety compliance, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Duties

You will be at the heart of our daily operations. Your day\-to\-day tasks will balance technical equipment operation and maintenance, with team training and coordination, and calm and confident user support, ensuring a seamless experience.

  • Operate oxygen tanks and associated equipment, carefully managing the safe admission of service users and the appropriate transition time between different chamber pressures.

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues promptly, and deliver exceptional customer service

  • Conduct regular audits of equipment and facilities to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs before they escalate

  • Perform routine maintenance, comprehensive safety inspections, and organize required external servicing for all oxygen\-related hardware.

  • Train, coordinate, and manage a dedicated team of volunteers to ensure consistent and reliable session coverage.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external providers, liaising directly with the National oxygen advice line, national bodies and oxygen suppliers, where required.

  • Maintain precise records of all therapy sessions delivered, oxygen usage data, and essential supply inventories.

  • Stay abreast of current research and developments in oxygen therapy to share valuable, relevant information with our service users.
By effectively managing these core responsibilities, you will ensure that our oxygen services run smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with all regulatory standards. Your proactive leadership will directly impact the quality of care and the overall wellbeing of our community.

Requirements

We are seeking a proactive and technically minded individual who can calmly and seamlessly balance operational rigor with a compassionate approach to our service users. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of practical problem\-solving skills, strong leadership capabilities, and exceptional interpersonal awareness.

  • An engineering, electronics, or similar technical background is highly desirable to effectively manage and maintain the equipment – and deal with any operational issues.

  • The confidence to take charge, make informed decisions, and swiftly problem\-solve in a hands\-on operational environment.

  • Strong organizational capabilities, particularly with proven experience in coordinating rotas and managing a team of volunteers.

  • A naturally calm, patient, and empathetic manner when interacting with service users, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and supported at all times.

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and simply explain the oxygen service and its benefits to diverse audiences.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, guaranteeing absolute accuracy in delivery, safety checks, maintenance logs, and session data recording.

  • A high level of comfort working to established operational procedures and stringent health and safety standards.
