But we don’t stop there – we support families too, offering guidance, training, and the confidence to navigate the world of SEND.
About Us
Dingley’s Promise has been changing lives since 1983\. We now run twelve specialist Early Years Centres across the UK, and we’re growing. Our centre’s run from 9:15am to 2:45pm during term time, giving children meaningful, play\-based learning experiences in a nurturing, supportive environment.
The Role: Family Support Worker
- Hours: 37\.5 hours/week (8:30\-4:30\) All year round
- Location: BS16 – South Gloucestershire
- Contract: Permanent, Full\-time
- Essential: You must be a *driver* with access to your own vehicle
Key Responsibilities
- Build warm, trusted relationships with families – offering emotional and practical support in a friendly, non\-judgemental way
- Help families understand the SEND system, including EHC plans, rights, and entitlements
- Support them with forms and paperwork
- Connect them to local services, peer networks, and specialist groups
- Work with professionals across health, education, and social care to join the dots
- Serve as a Outreach Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) – keeping children safe is everyone’s priority
- Represent Dingley’s Promise positively in the wider community
- Work closely with the Local Authority to identify settings to support transition.
- Organise and lead parent engagement activities including coffee mornings, information sessions, and stay\-and\-play sessions
- Provide one\-to\-one support and home visits (this involves lone working)
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about early years and SEND
- Warm, approachable, and a great communicator
- Organised, proactive, and good at problem\-solving
- Confident working with a wide range of people and services
- A driver with access to a vehicle (this is essential)
Desirable qualifications: In early years, SEND, or a related field
