Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our professional team. The successful candidate will assist with patient consultations, lens fitting, and various administrative duties, contributing to delivering exceptional eye care services. Prior practice experience and knowledge of the optical industry are desirable attributes for this position. All roles are paid, including internship opportunities, ensuring valuable practical experience within the optical sector.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with their optical needs in a friendly and professional manner
- Support the dispensing of spectacles and contact lenses, ensuring correct fitting and adjustments
- Prepare and maintain optical equipment and tools in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assist with patient eye examinations under supervision, gathering relevant medical history and documenting findings
- Maintain organised records of patient information and prescriptions.
- Educate patients on lens options, eye health, and proper care routines
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the optical practice environment
- Previous practice experience within an optical setting is highly advantageous
- Small business experience
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members
- Ability to work accurately under supervision in a fast\-paced environment
- Friendly demeanour with a genuine interest in providing excellent patient care
Pay: £13\.00\-£14\.50 per hour
