Optical Assistant

Job Summary
The Optical Advisor plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and expert guidance to clients seeking optical products and services. This position involves assisting customers in selecting eyewear that best suits their needs while ensuring a thorough understanding of the products available. The Optical Advisor will also be responsible for maintaining a welcoming environment and supporting the overall operations of the optical department.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assess their optical needs through effective communication.


• Dispense spectacles by assisting with frame and lens choices, making recommendations for the client's needs


• Provide knowledgeable advice on eyewear options, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses.


• Assist customers with fittings and adjustments to ensure optimal comfort and satisfaction.


• Maintain an organised display of products, ensuring that stock levels are monitored and replenished as necessary.


• Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate prescription fulfilment.


• Educate customers on proper eyewear care and usage, as well as the importance of regular eye examinations.


• Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and advancements in optical technology.


• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.

• Previous experience in an optical or retail environment is preferred but not essential.


• Laboratory experience is advantageous for understanding product specifications and processes.


• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.


• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high\-quality customer service.


• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self\-motivated.
