Optical Assistant

Gibson \& Thomson is a long\-established independent optician’s practice based in Garstang, Lancashire. We are proud to care for the eye health of local people in a warm, friendly and relaxed environment, many of whom have been patients since childhood.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic and customer\-focused Optical Assistant to join our friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

· Administration of daily sight test clinics

· Handling face\-to\-face, telephone and online enquiries

· Assisting with spectacle dispensing following training

· Providing excellent customer service

Working Hours:

2\.5 days per week on a two\-weekly rota working Mondays and Thursdays, plus alternate Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

The Ideal candidate will:

· Have excellent customer service and communication skills

· Have experience in a customer\-facing role

· Be familiar with Microsoft Office

· Live within 10 miles of Garstang

· Hold GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Salary £13218 (equivalent to £24750 full time). Experienced Optical Assistants are very welcome to apply, and we will consider matching your current salary.

Previous Optical Assistant experience would be beneficial, but is not essential as full training will be provided for this varied role. For the right candidate there may also be an opportunity to work towards a recognised vocational qualification.
