Our family owned independent opticians in Rutherglen has been proudly serving our community for over 30 years. Our small team works in a friendly, relaxed environment where both patients and staff feel valued. We’re now on the lookout for an optical advisor to help us keep things running smoothly and continue to grow. This position is suitable for F/T role (5 days) or P/T (3 days).
What you’ll be doing
- Getting involved in all aspects of the day\-to\-day running of the practice
- Working with the team to deliver great patient care
- Helping patients choose the right frames and lenses for their lifestyle
- Playing a big part in merchandising, marketing and buying to keep our practice looking fresh and appealing
- Working with computerised practice management system (XeyeX)
- Looking after stock control, ordering, admin and supplier relationships
- Ensuring the practice is well organised, clean and inviting at all times
- Dealing with patient enquiries in a warm and professional way
- Supporting our optometrists in providing top\-quality clinical eyecare
- Cashing up and invoice processing
- Fitting glasses and minor repairs
- You’re a team player who’ll enjoy our friendly and relaxed working environment
- You’ve got previous customer service experience (optical experience is a bonus but not essential)
- You understand the balance between great patient care and running a successful practice
- You’re happy to roll up your sleeves and get involved in all areas of the business
- You’re able to build a great rapport with colleagues and customers alike.
- You’re proactive, with a can\-do attitude
- You care about patients and love being part of a community
