Job Description:

Overview:

An all\-rounder to assist the General Manager in managing the operations of the club, including management of the admin team, bar and catering service, member services and compliance tasks.

Support the General Manager in ensuring the Health \& Safety of staff and club members.

Support the General Manager in recruitment and induction of staff, organising day\-to\-day rotas, staff development, training and performance reviews.

Responsible for the smooth running of the club in the absence of the General Manager

Main Responsibilities:

Sustain a working environment that supports the Club’s objective of consistently delivering excellent standards of service and meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Provide a great customer service experience for all members.

Responsible for admin team and overseeing general administration of the office.There will be some reception duties as part of the role which will include manning the front desk for a few hours each week, sometimes continuing with other work tasks while on the front desk.

Ensure the team have the product knowledge to please the club members and guests.

Assist the General Manager in delivering training including all Club related Health and Safety obligations and Licensing Laws.

Deal with complaints / problems, making every effort to resolve these before they escalate.

Support the General Manager in the recruitment, induction and training of individuals.

Assist in the day\-to\-day rotas, coaching and performance reviews, developing individuals to excel in their own role and have potential for career progression.

Responsible for carrying out appraisals and dealing with poor conduct/performance of the team.

To ensure effective staff timetables, rota and shift planning to cover the provision of service throughout the agreed opening times, taking into account shift overlap \& change times, team meetings, training needs, holidays and absences

Work with the Board, its committees and working parties, providing information and taking follow\-up action as required

At all times adhere to relevant legislation, good practice guidance (including CASC) relating to Health \& Safety, Child Protection, Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Equal Opportunitie

Ensure all club communications are in keeping with the club’s brand guidelines and are relevant to the club members and marketing communications.

*Club strategy and improvement*

Support the General Manager in developing and delivering the club’s strategic development, helping generate a strategic plan with prioritised capital investment.

Support the General Manager in the procurement of infrastructure and equipment – identifying potential suppliers, generating quotes.

Support the General Manager in managing suppliers to ensure they deliver to time, cost, and to required standards, any commissioned projects.

Experience of training others.

Excellent writing skills.

Relevant experience of progressive management supervising 8\+ employees.

Broad retail/hospitality/service industry experience.

Experience managing P \& L and trend reports.

Proficient IT Skills

Knowledge of sport or fitness industry.
