As the Operations Manager at Outdoor Norway, reporting directly to the company’s CEO \& Founder, you will lead the expansion and optimization of the company’s operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of world\-class outdoor experiences. Your focus will be on streamlining processes, driving team performance, and enhancing customer satisfaction. Leveraging seasonal insights and operational data, you will uphold our core values and contribute to sustainable growth. - Prepare the operational department pre\-season.
- Develop and implement contingency and emergency plans.
- Assign rafting trip responsibilities to river guides and trip leaders.
- Conduct risk assessments of technical procedures.
- Organize and prepare required trip equipment.
- Supervise and manage Trip Leaders.
- Maintain high service standards for all staff, on and off the water.
- Liaise with clients to gather feedback and improve marketing efforts.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
- Coordinate bookings and client programs.
- Ensure operational compliance and maintain records, documentation, and finances.
- Assist in staff training and mentoring.
- Manage compliance and risk protocols.
- Oversee journey\-based adventure programs.
- Lead the team and manage logistics, activities, rentals, and client safety.
- Conduct office\-based planning, management, and assessment.
- Represent Outdoor Norway professionally in all tasks.
- Adhere to and promote company policies and standards.
- Contribute to product development and process improvement.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
- Oversee human resource management.
- Report directly to the Company Director.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for staff and client engagement.
- Proven leadership and management experience, with the ability to multitask and maintain a strategic perspective.
- A proactive, solutions\-based mindset.
- Attention to detail while working under pressure.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in operations, logistics, or program management is advantageous.
- Proficiency in activity safety, remote first aid, emergency responses, and risk management is a plus.
- Strong program planning and management capabilities.
- At least 3 years of relevant management experience.
- Drivers License
- A Trip Leader’s rafting license with a minimum of two active seasons.
- Current Swift\-water Rescue Training Level 3 or equivalent certification.
- Current 40\-hour Wilderness First Aid or Occupational First Aid certification or equivalent.
- Strong decision\-making skills in a fast\-paced environment.
- Knowledge of commercial river rafting standards or commercial adventure center operations.
- Solid experience in the outdoor industry
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Computer literacy
- A passion for outdoor adventures.
