A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Bidvest Noonan for a Security Operations Manager, who will work across a number of key client sites in the South West.
We require the manager to be PSA licenced – Security Guarding
Overview
To be responsible for managing a team of security professionals in a high end corporate environment ensuring that all aspects of security are delivered in every task undertaken and that duties are carried out to the highest standard. To ensure that Business Continuity under ISO 22301 is implemented and tested.
To be part of the Bidvest Noonan management team contributing to the company’s efficiency, effectiveness and service delivery to employees and clients.
To be the principle contact for all clients’ and ensure that the customer’s experience is “second to none”. To deal with any complaints or grievances.
To provide first line management support and direction to all site based Security Teams, Bench and Relief Staff. Ensuring all staff are adhering to their Contract of Employment and Company Disciplinary Code and report to Operations Manager any breaches of these. This will include the administration of all rostering, holiday and other leave applications, initial response to site emergencies, and ensuring that the Health, Safety and Welfare of site teams is maintained.
Must be confident and a good communicator as you will be expected to liaise with senior management and clients to discuss the service requirements or any issues.
Duties as a Security Operations Manager
- Maintain an effective duty of care to Security Team Members ensuring that all required procedures/policies are correctly explained and followed
- Responsible for life safety systems
- Managing a team of Operatives covering day and night shifts
- Ownership of all operational incidents/emergencies during shift, ensuring appropriate management and reporting/escalation of issues
- Represent Bidvest Noonan in operational contact with the Garda Siochana and other companies
- Attend meetings and provide reports and recommendations on the activities of the security operation
- Manage and control the response to all incidents in a timely and effective manner
- Vary the protective deployment of Team Members as advised by senior line management
- Support Bidvest Noonan management teams in identifying and implementing service improvements
- Responsible for Time Gate and Agresso administration
- Ensure a full audit of services are conducted monthly
- In your role you should at all times display high levels of competence and must be prepared to exercise a high degree of flexibility and personal initiative.
- You will have a significant role in the security process and should have the ability to proactively identify areas that require improvement and innovation.
- Ensure that the security operation complies with all relevant statutory requirements
- Ensure that the security operation complies with the client’s requirements for business as usual and to meet regulatory standards applicable to the client’s business.
- Ensure the security operation is capable of providing an effective first response to all incidents and emergencies.
- To have total responsibility and ownership for the day to day running of the security operation across the South West.
- To ensure KPIs and SLAs are understood and exceeded.
- To ensure all Bidvest Noonan and client policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To lead and motivate the security team ensuring the ethos and core values of the client are reflected in their roles and responsibilities
- To ensure monthly reports are submitted to the contract manager in a professional and timely manner, within 2 working days of month end.
- Ensure that all site documentation is accurate and maintained in a controlled manner.
- Ensure that requirements set by client and Contract management along with instructions and policies are incorporated within the site Assignment Instructions in a suitable format and are fully and correctly implemented by the security team.
- Ensure correct emergency response by security staff in compliance with established procedures.
- Establish constant liaison with the client during emergencies to take guidance on correct response. Use available information resources to ensure the client and head office management are kept abreast of new developments.
- Interpreting and communicating all policy and procedural direction both within the team (in accordance with procedures agreed by the client).
- Ensuring all issues and incidents are dealt with and reported on in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
- Providing high quality written and verbal post incident/occurrence briefing reports.
- Maintaining a high degree of personal contact and visibility, at all levels of the client locations, in order to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Assessment, audit and review of current procedures and practices, making recommendations for change or amendment as required.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships at all levels of the firm, including individual business units and other service providers.
- Develop and maintain close liaison with external agencies and organizations for the security and safety of the client.
- Structured and methodical approach, good analysis and problem solving skills combined with the flexibility to change priorities and response according to circumstances.
- Brief the Contract Manager and team on pertinent security\-related issues
- Monthly basis – report to the senior stakeholders any onsite issues relating to security service delivery and achievements.
- Ensure that all personnel including relief cover employed at the client’s premises undergo the required training and assessment of competency processes, including certification, in line with agreed strategic deliverables.
- Ensure performance review and that staff appraisals of all team members are conducted to the expected standard.
- Ensure that the Supervisors are given clear goals and objectives over a twelve\-month period. Ensure that all team members are provided with suitable counsel to identify annual goals and objectives.
- Prepare and maintain training records for all staff, to include site induction and ongoing training and development needs.
- Complete monthly audits of all documentation. One audit per month.
- Complete a minimum of one knowledge tests of two officers per month.
- A valid PSA Licence
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Display a thorough and appropriate knowledge of regulations and working laws that govern the security and safety of staff, visitors, contractors, and colleagues
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Evacuation and Emergency procedures, firefighting equipment, evacuation principles and communication skills via telephone/PA/radio equipment
- Good understanding and proven ability in dealing with incident/crisis management
- Good written ability and numeracy are required to prepare working rosters, timesheets, and various other reports
- Excellent English in both verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of operational security software applications or the ability to acquire such knowledge through training.
