Operations and Installation Manager
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Operations \& Installation Manager to take a key leadership role within the business, leading our installation teams and overseeing day\-to\-day operations. The role will take ownership of people, planning, stock, ordering, deliveries and health \& safety, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard, while driving accountability, performance and continuous improvement.
Role and Responsibilities:
Operations and Installation
· Oversee the day\-to\-day installation operation and installation teams.
· Plan and coordinate installation schedules and workloads.
· Manage the installation calendar, ensuring resources and installers are allocated effectively.
· Monitor projects from order through to delivery and installation.
· Coordinate with surveyors, installers, suppliers and customers to ensure projects run smoothly.
· Identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
· Ensure installations are completed to the required quality and company standards.
· Manage after sales \- snagging, remedial works and follow\-up requirements.
Stock \& Warehouse Management
· Take responsibility for stock control and the day\-to\-day organisation of warehouse operations.
· Monitor stock levels and ensure required materials are available when needed.
· Maintain accurate stock records and investigate discrepancies.
· Organise the warehouse to ensure materials are stored safely and efficiently.
· Minimise waste, damage and unnecessary stock holding.
· Coordinate and ensure correct materials are prepared for each job and installation teams.
Ordering \& Deliveries
· Place and coordinate orders with suppliers based on project requirements.
· Place purchase orders alongside job orders for materials and suppliers.
· Monitor orders through to delivery, ensuring products arrive correctly and on time.
· Oversee incoming and outgoing deliveries.
· Check deliveries against orders and identify any shortages, damage or discrepancies.
· Coordinate delivery schedules with installation dates.
· Liaise with suppliers to resolve delivery or product issues.
Health \& Safety
· Take day\-to\-day responsibility for health and safety across installation and operational activities.
· Ensure installers and contractors follow appropriate health and safety procedures.
· Report and address health and safety issues promptly.
· Maintain a strong safety culture across the installation and warehouse operations.
Project Management
· Coordinate multiple projects and installation programmes simultaneously.
· Ensure projects remain on schedule and key deadlines are communicated to the relevant teams.
· Monitor progress and proactively identify potential delays or issues.
· Maintain clear communication between the office, surveyors, installers, suppliers and customers.
· Ensure projects are properly prepared before installers attend site.
Support continuous improvement of operational processes and systems.
Job Requirements:
· Experience managing installation teams or contractors.
· Strong planning and organisational skills.
· Experience managing stock, warehouse operations and deliveries.
· Good knowledge of windows, doors and glazing products and installation processes.
· Experience coordinating suppliers and placing orders.
· A good understanding of health and safety requirements.
· Excellent communication and problem\-solving skills.
· The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
· Strong attention to detail and a practical, hands\-on approach.
· The confidence to take ownership and make decisions.
· Good IT and administrative skills, including calendar and scheduling systems.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Pay: Up to £45,000\.00 per year
