About The Role

Salary: £12\.91 per hour
Location: Braintree Day Centre
Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Part time

We are looking for individuals who share our values and passion to make a positive difference to people's lives. You'll be supporting older people, some living with Dementia and/or age\-related frailty and clinical needs such as dysphagia. We provide a holistic service that focuses on social inclusion and community, enhancing quality of life for both our customers and their loved ones.

As an Older People Support Worker, you will join a dedicated team offering specialist, person\-centred support to individuals with decreased mobility, or individuals living with Alzheimer's, dementia and Parkinson's. You'll be delivering a range of tailored activities focused on maintaining independence and encouraging social interaction through both on\-site and community\-based activities.

You will support our customers with personal care and, support to maintain nutrition and hydration, and assist with medication administration where required.

About You

To be considered as an Older People Support Worker, you need:

  • To be passionate about providing a high level of care and support to older people

  • Exceptional listening and communication skills

  • To possess an empathetic approach

  • To be willing to provide personal care

  • Basic IT skills

  • A proactive approach to work and be able to work on your own initiative

  • To be able to work flexibly depending on the needs of the work environment
Previous experience in the care industry is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

Travel required across Essex to attend training, work at other centres, and in the community.
