Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing personalised therapy programmes to support patients in achieving their maximum level of independence and quality of life. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities to identify therapy needs.
- Develop personalised treatment plans based on assessment findings, aligning with best practice guidelines and patient goals.
- Deliver therapeutic interventions using a variety of techniques, including activities of daily living training, motor skills development, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimise outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families on strategies to manage conditions and improve functional independence.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with organisational policies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and social workers to ensure holistic patient care.
- Stay informed about current developments in occupational therapy through ongoing professional development activities.
- A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy (BSc or MSc) from an accredited institution.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent regulatory body.
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations across various settings is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating empathy and the ability to motivate patients during therapy sessions.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
