Pay: £12\.75–£13\.75 per hour (dependent on qualification)
Hours: Full\-time or part\-time (4 days per week), 7:30am–6:00pm
Due to continued growth, Footsteps Wilmslow is looking to welcome a passionate and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to our friendly team. We are seeking a qualified practitioner (Level 2 or Level 3\) with a strong understanding of the EYFS and a genuine love for supporting young children’s development.

Safeguarding Commitment
Footsteps Nursery is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and ongoing safeguarding training. Staff are required to subscribe to the DBS Update Service and complete regular training to ensure the highest standards of care and safety.
As a Level 2/3 Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children’s development during their most important learning years. You’ll create engaging experiences, build strong relationships, and help every child feel valued, confident, and supported — including children with special educational needs and disabilities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering fun, age\-appropriate activities that support learning and development
- Providing high\-quality care for babies, toddlers, and preschool children, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times
- Supporting children with SEND through tailored activities and positive behaviour strategies
- Creating a clean, stimulating, and welcoming learning environment
- Building strong partnerships with parents and carers through regular communication and updates
- Encouraging positive social interactions and helping children develop confidence and independence
- Taking part in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your early years practice
- A full and relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, daycare, or similar setting
- A good understanding of child development, safeguarding, and behaviour management
- Experience or knowledge of SEND is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with children
- First Aid certification is an advantage, but we’re happy to support you in gaining this
