As we continue to grow our European operations, we're looking for an experienced NPD Developer with a strong background in flowers and floral design to join our team in Germany.

The Opportunity

Are you passionate about flowers, trends and creating commercially successful products for the retail market?

As our NPD Developer, you'll take ownership of the development of new and existing flower products, managing projects from the initial idea and design through to customer approval and successful launch.

Working closely with our Commercial, Procurement, Operations, Technical, Supply Chain and Insight teams, you'll combine floral creativity with commercial thinking and consumer insight to develop products that excite our customers and drive category growth.

This is a hands\-on role, so we're looking for someone who understands flowers, knows how to create commercially viable bouquet designs and has the hand\-tie skills and technical flower knowledge to turn an idea into a finished product.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing NPD and EPD projects from concept through to first production and launch.


• Designing and developing commercially viable bouquets and flower products for the retail market.


• Using your knowledge of flower varieties, seasonality, colours and trends to create innovative new concepts.


• Creating and presenting new product concepts to customers alongside the Commercial team.


• Using consumer, customer and market insight to influence product development and identify new opportunities.


• Developing NPD and EPD plans that support customer, category and business strategies.


• Taking an active role in customer range reviews and presentations.


• Building strong relationships with customers and becoming a trusted product development partner.


• Managing project timelines and critical paths to ensure launches are delivered successfully.


• Coordinating samples, presentations and customer documentation accurately and on time.


• Working collaboratively with Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Technical and Supply Chain teams.


• Partnering with Procurement to identify new flower varieties, product opportunities and potential cost savings.


• Benchmarking existing and new products to maintain quality throughout the supply chain.


• Monitoring the retail market and competitor activity, including contributing to competitor shop reviews.


• Helping to drive the trend agenda and product house style across the business.


• Supporting and developing colleagues within the product development team.


• Ensuring the NPD facility is organised, efficient and ready for customer presentations and development activity.

For this role, professional experience within flowers and floral product development is essential.

You'll ideally have:

• Significant experience in retail flower design, product development and product launches, ideally within an FMCG or retail environment.


• Excellent knowledge of flowers, including varieties, seasonality and current trends.


• Strong practical bouquet\-making and hand\-tie skills.


• Experience managing the complete NPD/EPD process, from initial concept through to launch.


• A strong understanding of developing products for a commercial retail environment.


• The ability to combine creativity, consumer insight and commercial thinking.


• Experience using customer or consumer data to influence product development.


• Strong project management and organisational skills.


• The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines.


• Excellent customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.


• Confidence presenting concepts and recommendations to customers and senior stakeholders.


• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across different functions.
