Summary of Role:

The Non\-Working Supervisor is responsible for the effective day\-to\-day supervision of plant operatives, with a focus on coordinating all activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This supervisory role does not involve hands\-on operational tasks, but instead focuses on leading the team, managing performance, and ensuring operational targets are met.

The Supervisor holds responsibility for supporting logistics throughput as defined by the construction schedule. This includes managing a team that oversees the movement and handling of materials within the compound and ensuring the safe and efficient processing of vehicles through the designated area. The role requires close monitoring of activities against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with regular reporting on team and process performance.

In addition to supervising daily operations, the Supervisor is expected to allocate tasks effectively, ensure adherence to health and safety standards, deliver guidance and training to operatives, and serve as the main point of contact between the team and senior management. The role plays a vital part in maintaining site discipline, ensuring timely progress, and fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Accountabilities:

• Oversee and execute traffic management operations for work areas site wide, including contributing to the review and update of Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).


• Monitor dwell times of permanent materials within the compound, ensuring alignment with agreed turnaround targets.


• Manage and track vehicle throughput according to the construction schedule.


• Supervise and coordinate the IDP A team, ensuring clear task delegation and safe, efficient completion of daily activities.


• Support and monitor working supervisors (Blue Hats), ensuring they are trained, briefed, and performing effectively.


• Lead incident investigations, compile reports, and implement corrective actions.


• Deliver daily briefings, Toolbox Talks, safety stand\-downs, and ensure accurate reporting procedures.


• Collect and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to the IDP A Manager.


• Ensure availability and suitability of tools and equipment for the team, including compliance with calibration and lifting equipment protocols.


• Maintain high standards of housekeeping within all work areas.


• Implement and uphold Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


• Manage resource allocation, recruitment, and workforce planning.


• Ensure compliance with HR/IR policies and support resolution of related issues.


• Promote continuous improvement by identifying operational innovations.


• Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.

• Prepare for growth of Logistics Team.


• Assist in the development of Logistics Team Org Charts.


• Assist in the development of logistics Processes \& Procedures.


• Point of contact for Pay/ HR/ IR issues


• Ensures Logistics team have the correct incident and safety cover in place


• Ensure training records are reviewed regularly


• Responsible for reporting team absence records


• Responsible for initiating Performance reviews or disciplinary action.


• Able to cover Nightshift Non\-Working Supervisor when on annual leave.

• CITB HSE Test (Manager \& Professional standard)


• Driving Licence


• SMSTS

• CSCS Black Card


• Level 6 or above NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management


• IOSH Managing Safely


• Lifting Appointed Person (A61\)


• CPCS Card Holder (Blue Competent Operator) one of the following A17, A16, A33

• Hinkley Point C Construction Site, Wick Moore Drove, Nr Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 1UD
