Night Residential Support Officer
Full time salary £26,077; Pro\-rata: £21,951: 0\.8418 contract (term time only)

RNC seeks a dedicated Night Residential Support Officer to provide overnight support for students with visual impairments. Main responsibilities and duties:
· Fulfil staffing rota requirements ensuring student support needs and Health and safety requirements are met and entitlement to residential provision is delivered
· Proactively support students to attend and engage fully with their educational programme and report any barriers to learning to the Residential Support Manager
· Liaise with RSO Link Workers enabling students to work towards personal targets and with the transference of newly acquired skills in line with Residential Support Plan in the residential environment.
· Liaise with the medical team to identify and respond to students medical needs
· Carry out routine inspections of residential areas to ensure that students can sleep in safe and comfortable accommodation.
· Maintaining an effective student register regarding whereabouts of under 18 students for evenings/weekends.
· Respond to any emergencies that place students or staff at risk when required contact the on\-call Residential Support Manager.
· To provide a robust handover of information to staff coming on duty.
· Record all formal and informal contact with students to ensure accurate assessment of development of skills and distance travelled.
· To be a primary contact for Residential Support Managers to meet Student satisfaction requirements by responding to complaints / feedback and actioning improvement plan.
· Monitor, report and respond to Health and safety concerns and to communicate actions to Residential Support Managers.
· Distribute hall food supplies and monitor and respond to food hygiene issues.
· To take responsibility for Hall files being – current, secure, accessible, and stored within the legal requirements.
· Contribute to an environment where all staff, visitors and students conduct themselves in an acceptable way. To recognise personal responsibility towards conduct on campus and set an example of directly challenging any unacceptable behaviour on campus.
