The Coal Exchange Hotel Cardiff is looking for an experienced and reliable Night Reception Manager to lead our night reception operation and ensure our guests receive a high standard of service throughout the night.

This is a hands\-on role suited to someone who is confident working independently, can lead a small night team, and is comfortable dealing with guest queries, complaints and unexpected situations.

The Role

As Night Reception Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the hotel overnight, including:

• Leading and supporting the night reception team


• Ensuring high standards of guest service throughout the night


• Managing guest check\-ins and early check\-outs


• Handling guest queries, complaints and incidents professionally


• Completing night audit and required reception procedures


• Ensuring accurate handovers between the night and day teams


• Monitoring hotel security and following overnight safety procedures


• Ensuring reception and public areas are maintained to the expected standard


• Supporting the training and development of night reception team members


• Making appropriate decisions when dealing with issues overnight


• Working closely with the Reception Manager and wider management team


• Ensuring hotel policies and procedures are consistently followed

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous hotel reception, night reception or supervisory/management experience


• Is confident leading a team and taking responsibility for a shift


• Has excellent customer service and communication skills


• Can remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult situations


• Is reliable, organised and comfortable working independently


• Has good attention to detail


• Is confident handling guest complaints and finding appropriate solutions


• Understands the importance of hotel security and guest safety


• Is comfortable working permanent night shifts

Salary \& Hours

Salary: Competitive and based on experience
Hours: Full\-time, permanent night shifts
Location: The Coal Exchange Hotel, Cardiff

Salary will be discussed during the recruitment process and will reflect the successful candidate's previous experience and suitability for the role.

Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process will consist of:

Stage 1 – Initial Interview
Interview with the Reception Manager, focusing on your previous experience, night operations, guest service, leadership style and suitability for the role.

Stage 2 – Final Interview
Successful candidates will be invited to a second interview with the General Manager of The Coal Exchange Hotel Cardiff.

Pay: £25,420\.00\-£45,423\.51 per year
