We are seeking a motivated and compassionate NHS Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join our dynamic Adult Community Mental Health Team within the Gray's Community Mental Health . This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary service delivering high\-quality, person\-centred care to adults with complex mental health needs.
This is a full time NHS Locum Consultant post for general adult community mental health services covering the Thurrock area. This post has become available after the move of the previous post holder.
This post is based at Grays Hall Community Mental Health Unit.
This post provides community services for patients referred to the secondary mental health services from GP surgeries within 2 PCN areas of Grays and ASOP – see details above. The Thurrock team has 2 consultants with the second consultant looking after patients from the remaining 2 PCN in the Thurrock area. There are additional consultant sessions into the PCN. The total population covered by the 4 PCNs is approximately 175000\.

- Provide consultant input and Responsible clinician duties for community mental health patients under the CMHT
- Ensure excellence in the provision of mental health assessments and evidence based treatments to all referred patients to the service in line with Trust policies.
- Establish a reliable and accessible work schedule with the team and be readily available during work hours.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in community and inpatient settings concerning the timely care and transfer of patients as necessary.
- Ensure appropriate administration and documentation in relation to duties of the post, including recording clinical activities in the Trust electronic patient record system.
- Liaise with primary care services as appropriate about patients’ physical health, mental health and social care needs.
- Help co\-ordinate further support and/or management between different services as service users’ needs may dictate.
