Job Title: National Police Chiefs Council \- Finance Business Partner

Salary: The starting salary is £63,409, which includes allowances totalling £3,009\.

The salary is broken down as £60,400 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £65,886\. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non\-pensionable allowance of £1,000\.

Location: Remote working nationally within UK. NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James Park underground station, London and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK.

Contract – Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2027 (with the potential for further extension subject to funding and performance).

NPCC FINANCE TEAM

NPCC Finance provides strategic financial insight and operational support to help the organisation deliver its priorities within a constrained budget. Working closely with business groups, procurement, and shared services, the team drives value for money through robust financial analysis, forecasting, and modelling. The function supports senior leadership with clear, timely advice on performance, risks, and opportunities, enabling informed decision\-making, cost reduction, and service transformation. It also plays a key role in budgeting, strategic planning, commercial activity, and understanding demand, ensuring resources are used effectively and financial sustainability is maintained.

THE ROLE

The Finance Business Partner role will support the NPCC Strategic Finance Lead. The post will work alongside colleagues in Strategic \& Corporate Finance, Strategic Procurement and Shared Support Services. Within the Directorate the post will work alongside colleagues in Strategic and Corporate Finance, and Commercial and Property. Regular interaction with the provider of transactional services (SSCL) will be essential. Regular liaison with Business Groups is an important part of this role.

The successful candidate would need to have the following experiences and skills:

  • To analyse diverse sets of information in order to draw out appropriate correlations between data sets in order to generate solutions to complex operational and strategic problems.

  • Highly motivated and proactive approach to working including a strong desire to meet deadlines and deliver quality work.

  • Takes responsibility to meet business requirements and ownership of work and maintains a strong work ethic.

  • Business focused and flexible when meeting operational needs and expectations.

  • Experience of advising and guiding business decisions and frameworks in order to support assurance on compliance, risk management and governance arrangements.

VETTING

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post.

Occasional national travel may be required. Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey. NPCC will pay for overnight accommodation if required.
