National Key Accounts Manager

We are seeking a National Key Accounts Manager to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop both existing and new accounts nationwide. The successful candidate will manage and oversee all aspects of working within key accounts, ensuring excellent support, information flow, sales training, and timely responses to queries. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the food packaging or foodservice industry, who is keen on developing relationships and driving new business opportunities.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop and execute a business plan in line with the company's corporate plan, delivering growth in identified markets and customers. Review and revise the plan quarterly.

  • Communicate weekly with the National Sales Manager via one-to-one Teams meetings and submit a weekly call report detailing customer, competitor, and activity insights.

  • Set monthly action plans, listing customer visits, and Zoom meetings.

  • Report territory and customer performance monthly to the Head of Sales.

  • Act as a liaison between external customers and internal colleagues to exceed customer expectations.

  • Liaise with the National Sales Manager to inform of market developments and opportunities for product development.

  • Agree on a pricing strategy for the customers in the area and all new customers with the National Sales Manager.

  • Support customers by attending trade fairs, organising showroom displays, conducting training, and overseeing marketing and advertising efforts.

  • Achieve agreed sales targets and standard gross profit margins.

  • Exercise effective margin control to ensure alignment with area and corporate targets.

  • Review and promote sales campaigns agreed with the Head of Sales to international clients and prospects.

  • Plan time and visits effectively, ensuring multi-function contact with customers, including Buyers, Sales teams, Marketing, and Directors.

  • Provide competitor information, pricing, and recommend promotion and marketing activities to support customers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Key Accounts Manager, preferably in the food packaging or foodservice industry.

  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and achieve shared business targets.

  • High level of personal motivation, passion, and drive.

  • Commercial acumen to deliver and meet KPIs and targets.

  • Comfortable working in an environment of change and tackling problems positively.
