Location: Kent
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - 2 days, 2 nights

Multi Skilled Shift Engineer ensures the effective operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of machinery within a manufacturing environment, minimising downtime and supporting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

  • Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records

  • Work with production to reduce downtime

  • Assist with equipment installation and commissioning

  • Monitor site utilities (e.g., steam, air systems)

Skills & Experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment

  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical skills

  • PLC fault finding (desirable)

  • Problem-solving and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, shift-based roles

  • Safety-focused with attention to detail

Qualifications
  • Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)

  • Electrical certification (desirable)

Additional
  • Site-based role in an industrial environment

  • KPIs include uptime, maintenance completion and safety compliance
