Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Multi Skilled Bakery Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, installing and optimising bakery equipment to ensure smooth production processes. The successful candidate will possess a versatile skill set, including mechanical knowledge and electrical understanding. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a fast\-paced bakery environment, supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Minimise production downtime through effective fault finding and root cause analysis
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
- Collaborate with production teams to optimise machine performance and efficiency
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and project work as required
- Apply strong multi\-disciplinary engineering knowledge, with a bias towards electrical systems
Requirements
- Hold a time\-served apprenticeship with a recognised engineering qualification (SVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Engineering or equivalent preferred)
- Ideally 6 years experience (including apprenticeship)
- Flexibility and willingness to support business needs outside core hours when required
- Experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment preferred
- Awareness of food safety, hygiene standards, and HACCP principles
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills, particularly when liaising with production staff
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving
- Basic IT skills for maintenance systems, reporting, and documentation
Additional Information
- Hours: 40 hours per week to be work from 12\.00pm \- 20\.30pm (30 min unpaid break)
- Shift pattern: Sunday to Thursday
- Overtime: Opportunities available on Saturdays
- Flexibility required: To cover early shift and dayshift during holidays and business requirements
- Holidays: 29 days per annum (inclusive of bank holidays)
