MPV Driver
About the role
Balfour Beatty Rail are currently recruiting for an MPV Driver to join the team based in Tonbridge. This is a key role within the business unit (Multi\-Purpose Vehicle \& Module Operation) delivering key shifts for the customer by the safe driving and control of a Multi\-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).
What you'll be doing
Responsible for the safe driving and control of a Multi\-Purpose Vehicle (MPV).
Support track treatment activities across the rail network
Carry out vehicle inspections and safety of the line checks.
Making a positive contribution to a small dedicated team working on high profile contracts.
A flexible approach to work, being prepared to work around a roster that includes night, weekends, bank holidays and ability to respond to short notice changes of plan.
Work closely with route teams, maintenance staff, and our 24/7 Control function.
Ensure full compliance with Rule Book requirements, company procedures and industry standards at all times.
Accurately complete operational documentation, defect reports and vehicle logs.
Identify, report and assist in the resolution of safety concerns, hazards and close calls.
Who we're looking for
The following experience/qualifications are essential:
A qualified train driver with a good safety record.
Strong safety mindset with a commitment to delivering a Zero Harm culture.
Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
Good situational awareness and risk assessment skills.
Thorough route and in\-date knowledge of the infrastructure.
An appreciation of the importance of good customer relations.
Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Hold a current UK driving licence ideally with no more than 6 penalty points.
