As a Mobile Chemist, you'll play a key role in supporting customers with the safe collection, handling and disposal of hazardous waste. Working across customer sites, you'll ensure all waste is correctly identified, packaged and transported in line with current UK legislation while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect hazardous waste from customer sites and transport it safely to authorised disposal facilities
- Assess, segregate, label and package hazardous waste in accordance with UK legislation
- Produce and maintain all required hazardous waste documentation
- Organise waste collections and maintain stock of packaging materials
- Work closely with internal teams to support customer quotations and service delivery
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, COSHH and environmental legislation
- Operate material handling equipment to safely load and unload waste
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers while delivering a professional service
- A-Level in Chemistry, Science or a related qualification
- Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and legislation
- Understanding of COSHH regulations
- Experience working within Health & Safety and environmental compliance
- Full UK driving licence (experience driving a 3.5-tonne van would be advantageous)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Fork Lift Truck certification would be beneficial but is not essential
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
