Company Overview

Complete Education Solutions (CES) is a leading provider of innovative, cloud\-based software solutions tailored specifically for the educational and childcare sectors across the United Kingdom. Our primary mission is to leverage modern digital technology to eliminate administrative burdens, allowing educators, school administrators, and childcare providers to focus their energy on student development and engagement.

Our core product suite includes market\-leading platforms such as iPAL, a comprehensive childcare booking and management system that streamlines parent communications, invoicing, and attendance tracking, and iPEP, an advanced physical education lesson planner used by hundreds of schools to track physical literacy and curriculum compliance. As our user base grows, we are expanding our engineering team to ensure our infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and capable of supporting next\-generation features.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Mid\-Level Full Stack Developer to join our core engineering team. In this position, you will work across our entire application stack. On any given day, you might optimise complex data relationships across our MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, build highly secure RESTful endpoints using PHP and Laravel, or design sleek, responsive user interfaces using React. Furthermore, this role provides an excellent growth pathway to gain production experience with cloud native infrastructure (AWS) and mobile application frameworks (React Native).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to execute the following core duties:

● Full\-Stack Feature Delivery: Architect, implement, and maintain scalable web features from initial database schema migrations up to the frontend presentational layer.

● Backend Engineering: Write clean, well\-tested, and secure object\-oriented PHP using the Laravel framework, adhering to SOLID principles and modern design patterns.

● Frontend Interfaces: Build interactive, stateful web applications using modern React, utilising functional components, custom hooks, and standard state management practices.

● Database Optimisation: Design efficient relational schemas and optimise query performance across both MySQL and PostgreSQL database engines to handle high\-concurrency workloads.

● Code Quality \& Mentorship: Participate actively in peer code reviews, advocate for clean coding standards, and maintain clear technical documentation for internal systems.

Technical Competencies

Required Skills

● PHP \& Laravel: 2\-4 years of commercial web development experience within the Laravel framework ecosystem.

● React: Solid proficiency in building responsive user interfaces with modern React syntax.

● Databases: Direct experience designing and query\-tuning with both MySQL and PostgreSQL.

● Version Control: Practical familiarity with Git workflows, branch management, and pull request reviews.

Desirable Skills

● React Native: Prior exposure to cross\-platform mobile development or mobile app deployment.

● Amazon Web Services (AWS): Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure components (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS).

Compensation and Benefits

CES values sustainable engineering practices, professional growth, and a balanced workplace culture. We offer:

● Competitive salary based on mid\-level market experience.

● Hybrid working arrangements with flexible hours centered around core team collaboration windows.

● Dedicated professional development support, including opportunities to upskill.
