Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to provide high\-quality support to individuals with mental health needs. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, including children and adults, to promote well\-being, independence, and positive behavioural outcomes. This role involves delivering personalised care in a respectful and empathetic manner, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all service users.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities, including personal care and medication administration as required
- Implement behaviour management strategies, including applied behaviour analysis techniques, to support behavioural improvements
- Support individuals with autism and other disabilities through tailored interventions and activities
- Engage clients in therapeutic activities designed to promote social skills, emotional regulation, and independence
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special education professionals and healthcare providers
- Monitor and record client progress accurately, maintaining detailed care plans and documentation
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to clients experiencing distress or behavioural challenges
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures
- Experience working with children or adults with mental health issues or disabilities is desirable
- Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques is advantageous
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism or in special education settings is preferred
- Ability to administer medication safely following training and protocols
- Strong communication skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and active listening abilities
- Relevant qualifications in healthcare, social care, or related fields are beneficial but not essential
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in mental health support practices
Pay: £12\.71 per hour
