How do you help make a difference?
As a Medior DevOps Engineer (CI/CD \& SDLC Tooling), you contribute to streamlining and standardising software delivery practices within the Software Delivery Center of Excellence (SDCoE). You support and evolve CI/CD pipelines and SDLC tooling, promote automation and best practices, and help delivery teams adopt DevOps in a pragmatic and scalable way. You work transversally across multiple delivery teams, contributing to the continuous improvement of the software development lifecycle across the organisation.
What is your role at SNCB?
As a Medior DevOps Engineer (CI/CD \& SDLC Tooling), you will take on the following responsibilities:
- You support the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment across delivery teams.
- You contribute to reusable CI/CD pipeline templates, automation standards, and the integration of testing, quality checks, and deployments within pipelines.
- You support and evolve the SDLC toolchain, including CI servers, repositories, testing tools, and code quality tools, and act as a technical point of contact for SDLC tooling questions.
- You write, maintain, and promote documentation on CI/CD best practices, pipeline usage and conventions, and SDLC tooling guidelines, ensuring standards are pragmatic and adoptable.
- You promote DevOps and CI/CD best practices across the software lifecycle and support teams in adopting automation incrementally, aligned with their maturity.
- You collaborate with developers, testers, architects, operations, and SDLC and DevOps communities, and participate in onboarding, coaching, and enablement initiatives led by the SDCoE.
- You hold a minimum (professional) Bachelor in Applied Computer Sciences or have equivalent experience.
- You have several years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or software delivery tooling.
- You have experience working in a multi‑team or enterprise environment, which is considered a plus
- You have experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation concepts.
- You have hands‑on experience with at least one CI/CD platform such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- You have a good understanding of Git and branching strategies.
- You have a good understanding of build and deployment automation.
- You have experience integrating testing and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- You have scripting experience using Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python, which is considered an asset.
- You are familiar with SDLC tooling such as repositories, testing tools, and code quality tools, which is considered a plus.
- You are pragmatic, hands‑on, and solution‑oriented.
- You communicate clearly and are willing to support others.
- You are comfortable working in a transversal, enabling role.
- You have a continuous improvement mindset.
- You are proficient in English.
- You have knowledge of Dutch and/or French, which is a plus.
- You are willing to work onsite three days per week.
