Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Administrator

We are looking for an organised and customer\-focused Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Administrator to join the Medical Director’s Office. Working 30 hours per week as part of a small specialist team, you will help coordinate appraisal, revalidation and professional registration processes for approximately 1100 doctors connected to the Trust’s designated body.

You will provide a reliable point of contact for doctors, medical appraisers and senior clinical colleagues, offering timely guidance and practical support. The role involves maintaining accurate and confidential records, monitoring deadlines, supporting doctors to prepare the information required for appraisal and revalidation, and ensuring key systems such as L2P and GMC Connect remain up to date.

This varied Band 4 role would suit an experienced administrator who can manage competing priorities, communicate confidently and sensitively, and maintain excellent attention to detail. Previous NHS or medical appraisal and revalidation experience would be helpful but is not essential. You will need strong organisational and written communication skills, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.

The post holder will coordinate administrative processes for medical appraisal and revalidation, maintaining accurate and confidential records on L2P, GMC Connect and associated systems.

You will issue reminders and notices, collate supporting information, monitor outstanding requirements and support doctors and appraisers through the appraisal and revalidation process. You will also update records for starters and leavers, administer transfer\-of\-information and bank doctor processes, produce reports, and provide timely advice and guidance to medical staff.

The role requires excellent organisation, attention to detail, sensitivity and sound judgement, including knowing when to escalate complex matters.
