About the role
This is a meaningful, varied position at the heart of a busy and well\-regarded GP practice. You will play a key role in keeping the practice running smoothly — processing and managing clinical and administrative documents, maintaining accurate records, supporting GPs and clinical staff, and ensuring patients receive the right follow up care at the right time. We need someone proactive, reliable, and discreet, who takes real pride in the quality and accuracy of their work. Previous office experience and administrative skills are highly valued in this position.

Responsibilities
- Scan all incoming paper or electronic clinical letters, code as set out in the Clinical Admin/File Direct protocol and workflow to the GP if appropriate
- Manage email accounts and ensure actions are completed
- Process out of hours reports, alerting the GPs of any deaths
- Process reports coming in from NHS 111
- Accept any patient deductions and amendments and resolve any registration queries.
- Book in and return notes
- Monitor the Laboratory Links to ensure they have been actioned by a GP, coding when appropriate
- Summarise medical records
- Follow the Death Protocol on receipt of any death notifications, ensuring these are actioned as a high priority
- Action tasks in Workflow Manager
- Read coding
- Conduct searches
- Administer insurance reports/copies of records requests
- Follow appropriate protocols
- Process registrations
- Process blood pressure readings
- Provide administrative support in line with the needs of the practice
- Proven experience in an office or administrative role is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Experience of supporting people, their families and carers in a related role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience of IT systems and packages including EMIS Web, Docman 10 and Electronic Patient Records is desirable
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high\-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast\-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are essential for success in this role.
Pay: £12\.71 per hour
