Mechanical Design Engineer

At WeQuel, we are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Södertälje, where you will become an important part of a team working with advanced engineering and concept vehicles, with a focus on early\-phase development and concept work. You will work with new technologies such as electrification, hydrogen, and e\-Mining, in fast\-paced projects that require close collaboration with R\&D, Production, and other internal stakeholders.

As a consultant with us, you get the opportunity to work with one of our clients, a leading company within the automotive and vehicle engineering industry, where you contribute to developing innovative technical solutions and ensuring that designs are feasible and aligned with project goals.

Your tasks:

• Concept development and early\-phase design of advanced vehicles


• Creation of 3D models and concept\-level drawings in Catia V5


• Development of technical solutions within cooling systems, braking systems, steering, and battery installations


• Collaboration with R\&D, Production, and cross\-functional stakeholders


• Vehicle layout work and design feasibility assurance


• FEM calculations to validate design concepts


• Delivery of design work at "good enough" concept level within tight timelines


• Continuous development and improvement of technical solutions

You work in a dynamic environment with a high degree of uncertainty, where flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing conditions are key, while independently driving your work forward and collaborating across several interfaces within the organization.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience within mechanical design or a related field


• Fluent in English, spoken and written; knowledge of Swedish is meritorious


• Proven experience with Catia V5 (3D)


• Good knowledge of Enovia or similar PLM systems


• Experience designing BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) solutions


• Understanding of vehicle layout and system integration


• Experience within cooling systems, braking systems, steering, or battery components is highly meritorious


• Knowledge of FEM calculations for design validation


• Flexible and solution\-oriented, comfortable working in environments with a high level of uncertainty


• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to take ownership of your deliverables
