About Dryft

At Dryft, we don’t follow the industry—we reinvent it.

Headquartered and proudly manufacturing in Sheffield, England, we’re a founder\-led global design and manufacturing company creating products the world has never seen before. We don’t believe in copying what’s already on the market or making small improvements to existing ideas. We challenge convention, solve problems others can’t, and invent breakthrough technologies that redefine what’s possible.

Formerly known as Motorscrubber, we’re entering an exciting new chapter as Dryft, with a bold vision to disrupt the commercial cleaning industry through relentless innovation. Our products are protected by multiple patents, exported worldwide, and trusted in hospitals, schools, hotels, restaurants, retail environments and many other commercial settings.

With a team of more than 50 people, you’ll be joining a business that is large enough to make a global impact, yet small enough for every individual to make a real difference. As a privately owned, founder\-led company, we move quickly, make decisions efficiently and give talented people the freedom to turn ideas into reality.

Innovation isn’t a department at Dryft—it’s our culture. We launch groundbreaking new products every 6–12 months and are investing in our future with a state\-of\-the\-art manufacturing facility at the Advanced Manufacturing Park, opening in 2028\.

If you want to build products that have never existed before, work with people who challenge the status quo and help shape the future of a rapidly growing global business, there has never been a more exciting time to join Dryft.

Why You Will Be Employed by Dextron

Your employment contract will be with Dextron Technology Limited, a separate entity within the Dryft Group of companies established to protect and secure the group’s intellectual property.

Although you will be employed by Dextron, the products and technologies you design will be developed exclusively for Dryft World Ltd. You will work closely with the wider Dryft product\-development, industrial\-design and manufacturing teams.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to turn ambitious product concepts into robust, manufacturable commercial cleaning machines.

You will take ownership of the internal architecture, fluid and airflow systems, structural components and mechanical assemblies behind the Dryft product range. Working alongside our Industrial Design team, you will transform external product concepts into reliable, high\-volume production assemblies.

Our rapid development cycle means you will see your work move from CAD and prototype testing into production faster than in many traditional engineering businesses.

What You Will Do

· Engineer the internal architecture of new products, including structural ribs, brackets, screw bosses, snap fits and component mounting.

· Design fluid and airflow routes, sealing systems, gaskets and O\-ring interfaces for clean\- and dirty\-water management.

· Develop drivetrains, hinges, latches, linkages, spring\-loaded mechanisms, gear systems and bearing arrangements.

· Package motors, pumps, electronics and battery systems within compact, demanding product environments.

· Design components for high\-volume injection moulding, die casting and sheet\-metal manufacture.

· Conduct draft, wall\-thickness and tolerance\-stack analyses.

· Produce detailed manufacturing drawings using appropriate tolerances and GD\&T.

· Work directly with our in\-house prototyping and manufacturing teams to test, refine and industrialise designs.

· Support products throughout prototype, validation, tooling and production stages.

What We Are Looking For

· A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.

· More than five years’ experience in mechanical product development.

· Experience taking complex electromechanical products from concept through to high\-volume production.

· Advanced SolidWorks capability, including parametric modelling, top\-down or master modelling and complex assembly management.

· Strong knowledge of plastic\-part design, structural components and design for manufacture.

· Proven experience designing mechanisms, moving parts, gear systems, fluid\-handling systems or sealed enclosures.

· A practical, problem\-solving approach and the confidence to take ownership of engineering decisions.

· The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast\-moving product\-development environment.

Beneficial Experience

· 3DEXPERIENCE or another PDM system.

· Structural, motion or flow simulation.

· Finite element analysis.

· Injection\-moulding tooling and production support.

· Commercial appliances, floorcare products, power tools or other high\-volume electromechanical products.

Why Join Us?

· Work on patented products and technologies that challenge established industry conventions.

· Take products from initial concept to manufacture within one Sheffield\-based team.

· Access advanced in\-house prototyping equipment, including high\-quality 3D printers and CNC machinery.

· Work closely with on\-site injection\-moulding and manufacturing operations.

· Take meaningful ownership of products that will be sold and used around the world.

· Join a founder\-led business where strong ideas can be acted on quickly.

· Help shape a fast\-growing product range powered by the Dryft Core\-ion battery ecosystem.

Salary and Benefits

· £35,000–£48,000 per year, negotiable based on experience.

· Additional paid annual leave.

· Performance\-based bonuses.

· Ongoing professional\-development opportunities.

· Access to state\-of\-the\-art prototyping and manufacturing facilities.

· A collaborative, ambitious and fast\-paced working environment.
