Key Responsibilities of the Role:

• Develop, review and coordinate mechanical building services designs for data centre projects from concept through detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover.


• Support the production and review of mechanical design deliverables including drawings, specifications, technical submittals, calculations and equipment schedules.


• Coordinate with consultants, specialist vendors, subcontractors and internal project teams to ensure design compliance and timely delivery of design information.


• Review consultant and vendor design information to ensure compliance with client requirements, project specifications and applicable codes and standards.


• Assist with the preparation and management of RFIs, technical queries and design change requests throughout the project lifecycle.


• Review and comment on mechanical technical submittals, shop drawings and material approvals prior to issue to the client and design team.


• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and BIM reviews to identify and resolve design clashes and interface issues.


• Support the development and maintenance of mechanical asset registers, equipment schedules and design trackers.


• Work closely with procurement teams to ensure equipment selection aligns with project specifications, technical requirements and programme milestones.


• Evaluate alternative technical solutions and contribute to value engineering initiatives while maintaining system reliability and performance requirements.


• Assist site teams with technical support during installation, testing and commissioning activities.


• Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), integrated systems testing (IST) and commissioning activities as required.


• Support the preparation and review of O\&M documentation, as\-built drawings and project closeout deliverables.


• Monitor design deliverables against project programme requirements and proactively identify risks to design, procurement and construction activities.


• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, CSA, controls and commissioning teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.


• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to graduate and junior engineers where required.


• Support tender reviews, technical bid evaluations and pre\-construction engineering activities for new projects.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree (BEng/BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related discipline.


• Professionally qualified or actively working towards Chartered Engineer status (Engineers Ireland, IMechE, CIBSE or equivalent).


• Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems and applicable European and international standards.

Essential Experience:

• Minimum 5\-8 years' experience in Mechanical Design Engineering within mission\-critical, data centre, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, or large\-scale commercial construction projects.


• Experience supporting projects through all design stages from concept and detailed design through procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.


• Proven experience reviewing and coordinating mechanical design deliverables, technical submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and vendor packages.


• Experience managing design interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA, controls and commissioning teams.


• Strong understanding of data centre mechanical infrastructure including:

+ Chilled water systems
+ HVAC and air distribution systems
+ CRAH and CRAC units
+ Direct and indirect cooling systems
+ Heat rejection systems
+ Pumping systems
+ Water treatment systems
+ Building Management Systems (BMS)

• Experience working with hyperscale or colocation data centre clients and understanding of mission\-critical availability requirements.


• Experience supporting design reviews, constructability assessments and value engineering exercises.


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams while maintaining programme and deliverable requirements.

Technical Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows.


• Experience reviewing 3D coordinated models in Navisworks and BIM 360 / ACC environments.


• Familiarity with mechanical design software and calculation tools.


• Strong understanding of commissioning processes for critical mechanical systems.


• Ability to interpret and review technical specifications, equipment schedules, mechanical calculations and system schematics.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Team

Desirable Experience:

• Experience working within a Tier 1 MEP contractor or design\-and\-build contracting environment.


• Experience on live data centre campuses or phased mission\-critical developments.


• Knowledge of sustainability requirements, energy efficiency strategies and low\-carbon cooling technologies.


• Experience supporting tender reviews, procurement activities and equipment vendor evaluations.


• French language capability would be advantageous for projects in France.

Principales responsabilités du poste :

• Concevoir, examiner et coordonner les plans des services mécaniques du bâtiment pour les projets de centres de données, du concept à la conception détaillée, en passant par la construction, la mise en service et la livraison.


• Appuyer la production et la révision des livrables de conception mécanique, y compris les dessins, les spécifications, les soumissions techniques, les calculs et les calendriers d'équipement.


• Collaborer avec les consultants, les fournisseurs spécialisés, les sous\-traitants et les équipes de projet internes afin de garantir la conformité de la conception et la livraison en temps voulu des informations de conception.


• Examiner les informations de conception des consultants et des vendeur afin de garantir leur conformité aux exigences du client, aux spécifications du projet et aux codes et normes applicables.


• Participer à la préparation et à la gestion des demandes d'informations (RFI), des questions techniques et des demandes de modification de conception tout au long du cycle de vie du projet.


• Examiner et commenter les documents techniques mécaniques, les plans d'atelier et les approbations de matériaux avant leur transmission au client et à l'équipe de conception.


• Participer aux réunions de coordination de conception multidisciplinaires et aux revues BIM afin d'identifier et de résoudre les conflits de conception et les problèmes d'interface.


• Appuyer le développement et la maintenance des registres d'actifs mécaniques, des calendriers d'équipements et des outils de suivi de conception.


• Collaborer étroitement avec les équipes d'approvisionnement pour garantir que la sélection des équipements soit conforme aux spécifications du projet,
