LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach. </p></div><p>As a Mechanical Commissioning Technician working with the LotusWorks team, you will be based on a client site within the Semiconductor sector at a state-of-the-art facility in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.</p>
<p>You will be responsible for both decommissioning and commissioning of facilities equipment across utility and process systems, supporting the safe start-up, testing, and handover of mechanical systems in a live, high-tech manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for the mechanical connection and installation of process tools, supporting tool start‑up activities during a semiconductor facility ramp‑up. The role operates in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment and requires close coordination with multiple trades and project teams.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities:</h3>
<ul>
<li>This position is responsible for the commissioning and de-commissioning of a range of Mechanical associated Live Systems, including but not limited to those listed below: </li>
<ul>
<li>Air Handling Units (AHUs) </li>
<li>Chillers and Boilers </li>
<li>Compressed Air Systems </li>
<li>Scrubbed Exhaust and General Exhaust Systems </li>
<li>Water Treatment Systems </li>
<li>Industrial Waste Systems (IWS) </li>
<li>Process equipment and associated mechanical services </li>
<li>Tool hook‑up and turn‑on readiness activities </li>
<li>Associated piping, fittings, and mechanical interfaces </li>
</ul>
<li>Work as a Mechanical Technician as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team supporting commissioning and de-commissioning activities.</li>
<li>Demonstrate ownership and initiative in a high‑paced, schedule‑driven environment.</li>
<li>Deliver assigned tasks in line with project milestones and safety requirements.</li>
<li>Carry out all duties in a manner that poses no risk to personnel safety or facility operations.</li>
<li>Work with trades to ensure equipment is installed in a safe, compliant, and approved manner.</li>
<li>Follow detailed installation and tool turn‑on documentation.</li>
<li>Monitor contractor installation workmanship to ensure compliance with specifications.</li>
<li>Track mechanical installation activities against the project schedule.</li>
<li>Support tool start‑up activities, including inspections, pressure testing, and verification prior to handover.</li>
<li>Witness tests and inspections carried out on mechanical systems and connections.</li>
<li>Generate Before Action Reviews (BARs) and execute documentation to support decommissioning activities on live systems in line with site procedures.</li>
<li>Generate and execute commissioning documentation including OATs and FATs (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests).</li>
<li>Work with Operations and Engineering teams to develop testing protocols and system start‑up procedures.</li>
<li>Commission mechanical equipment including pumps, fans, motors, compressors, boilers, chillers, and air handlers.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and resolve system and equipment issues safely and efficiently.</li>
<li>Work to tight timelines while maintaining strict safety and quality standards</li>
<li>Carry out QA/QC walk-downs of mechanical systems and equipment.</li>
<li>Ensure documentation complies with client quality and commissioning requirements.</li>
<li>Generate, execute, and maintain commissioning documentation in a controlled and organised manner.</li>
<li>Record test results and system performance data.</li>
<li>Support the closure of identified field issues and verify that all corrective actions have been effectively implemented</li>
<li>Interact and respond to Project and Commissioning Leads direction.</li>
<li>Attend daily meetings and provide accurate status updates on assigned systems and activities.</li>
<li>Co-ordinate with commissioning, operations, engineering, and safety teams to support system readiness.</li>
<li>Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, supervisors, and client stakeholders.</li>
<li>Execute all works in strict accordance with site safety protocols, procedures, permits, and approved documentation.</li>
<li>The role involves the commissioning and de-commissioning of multiple Live Systems, executed with unwavering adherence to COHE (Control of Hazardous Energy) procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational control.</li>
<li>Maintain exceptional attention to safety standards, particularly when working on live monitoring and FMS systems.</li>
<li>Identify, report, and mitigate risks associated with Mechanical commissioning &amp; de-commissioning activities.</li>
<li>Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. </li>
</ul>
<h3>Skills Required:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ industry experience with a mechanical maintenance and /or start up mechanical process, Installation or commissioning environments.</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including fans, pumps, and associated equipment.</li>
<li>Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.</li>
<li>Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite applications, with the ability to produce accurate documentation and support operational tasks.</li>
<li>Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Flexibility and accountability in approach to work.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Education / Licenses / Certifications:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Time-served mechanical trades qualification or a Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience.</li>
<li>Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable</li>
