MCP Engineer / AI Backend Engineer

Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain MCP servers and MCP-based integrations, ensuring reliable communication between AI agents and backend systems


• Develop scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js, leveraging frameworks such as Hono, Fastify, NestJS, or Next.js APIs


• Build and deploy serverless/edge solutions using Cloudflare Workers and related services (KV, Durable Objects, Queues, R2, D1)


• Create and optimize AI-powered workflows, including prompt design, tool definitions, and LLM integrations


• Implement APIs, automation flows, and service-to-service integrations with strong focus on reliability, observability, and maintainability


• Debug and improve system behavior across MCP infrastructure, backend services, and AI workflows

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js in backend development


• Experience building REST APIs, backend services, or distributed systems


• Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Hono, Fastify, NestJS, or Next.js API routes


• Experience with serverless or edge environments, ideally Cloudflare Workers or similar


• Solid understanding of API design, authentication, logging, error handling, and system observability


• Hands-on experience integrating services and building automation or internal tools


• Strong interest or experience in AI systems, LLMs, and prompt engineering


• Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-ready code with strong debugging skills


• High ownership mindset and comfort working independently in fast-moving environments


• Strong plus: experience with MCP, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude), tool-based AI workflows, or Cloudflare ecosystem services
