Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for a Trade Support Associate within our Markets \& Securities Services team

  • Plays a key role to ensure BAU and other daily team tasks are completed accurately, on time and to the expected standards in accordance with operational procedures. Escalates issues and challenges, reports routinely and updates management promptly.

  • Proactively reviews and maintains desktop procedures relating to day to day processes. Makes regular suggestions to improve and enhance operational process flows.

  • Promotes a customer centric culture by providing a value\-add service and by fostering internal and external relationships. Makes suggestions based on analysis and evidence and explores ways to improve efficiency within the remit of their role

Operations \- Trade asnd Transaction Reporting
Position Description

Background

  • Perform daily MiFID II transaction reporting in line with established procedures

  • Submit transaction data via UnaVista (TR and ARM)

  • Complete daily reconciliations, key controls, and end‑of‑day reporting dashboards

  • Identify, investigate, document, and escalate reporting discrepancies in a timely manner

  • Maintain and update desktop procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with governance standards

  • Support projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives

  • Manage shared inboxes and queries, ensuring timely responses and issue resolution

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including Treasury, IT, Compliance, JRIE, and Front Office

  • Engage with support teams to ensure system availability and escalate issues as required

  • Collaborate with team members to meet operational deadlines and support ad‑hoc tasks

  • Demonstrate understanding of the role’s contribution to wider team and regulatory objectives
Accountabilities \& Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of daily MiFID II reporting and related activities, ensuring all regulatory and contractual obligations are met

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring issues and queries are escalated and resolved promptly

  • Maintain and periodically review desktop procedures, updating the policy and procedures database in line with bank standards

  • Proactively identify and propose improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of processes

  • Ensure adherence to bank policies, control frameworks, and best practices at all times

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable MiFIR regulatory requirements

  • Follow compliance procedures rigorously, complete mandatory training, and integrate regulatory requirements into day‑to‑day activities, demonstrating awareness of associated risks and controls
Experience \& Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a reporting environment with exposure to regulatory reporting desirable but not essential.

  • Good communication skills, with ability to deal effectively at all levels

  • Good working knowledge of Excel, capable of manipulating financial data

  • Self\-motivated, energetic, flexible and collaborative

  • Ability to identify efficiencies and suggest methods to implement change to existing process.
