Role Summary
We are seeking a strategic, results‑driven Marketing \& Commercial Manager to lead our commercial growth strategy, optimise sales performance, and expand our market presence. Following the arrival of three supermarket express stores in the local area over the past year, our competitive landscape has shifted significantly. We are looking for a forward\-thinking leader who can bring fresh perspectives, respond effectively to market changes, identify untapped revenue opportunities, and re‑accelerate sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Growth \& Sales Development — Identify new revenue streams, optimise product ranges, introduce targeted promotions, and implement initiatives to increase footfall and basket spend.
- Strategic Planning \& Store Performance — Work with senior management to refine product offerings, improve pricing strategies, and set clear commercial targets aligned with store performance goals.
- Market Research \& Customer Insights — Monitor competitor activity, analyse customer buying behaviour, conduct local market research, and recommend changes to improve competitiveness.
- Business Development \& Supplier Relations — Build strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and contracts, and source new products that meet customer demand and improve margins.
- Campaign \& Financial Reporting — Plan and execute promotional campaigns, track sales performance, analyse ROI, and prepare commercial reports.
- Commercial Team Leadership — Deliver commercial briefings to the team, lead staff training on new product lines and promotional strategies, and monitor the overall commercial execution of the store floor.
- Experience — Suitable for candidates with strong academic or practical experience in business, commercial development, retail operations, or driving business growth.
- Educational Background — Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, Management, Marketing, or a related commercial discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
- Commercial \& Strategic Acumen — Demonstrated ability to analyse competitive landscapes, build growth strategies from the ground up, and negotiate business contracts.
- Data \& Technical Proficiency — Strong analytical skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations.
- Communication \& Leadership — Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and present commercial plans.
