Accountabilities:

  • Review daily queues of system-generated culture markets against fixed completion deadlines.

  • Evaluate each candidate for factual accuracy, clarity, relevance, and whether its resolution criteria can be reliably adjudicated using an authoritative source.

  • Verify opening and closing times against the underlying cultural event, such as an announcement, broadcast, release, ceremony, or other scheduled moment.

  • Determine whether a market is genuinely culturally relevant and timely rather than technically accurate but no longer meaningful to audiences.

  • Assess markets against community standards and content guidelines, escalating sensitive or ambiguous cases involving private life, health, minors, grief, or unverified allegations.

  • Approve, edit, or reject candidate markets while recording a specific and structured reason for every decision.

  • Rewrite questions and resolution criteria for precision, clarity, and authentic fan-oriented language, including relevant fandom terminology.

  • Create timestamped clarifications when ambiguity arises during a live market and handle settlement situations where no authoritative data feed is available.

  • Conduct proactive gap scans across social platforms, fan communities, entertainment media, and other sources to identify culturally significant moments missed by the automated pipeline.

  • Monitor breaking developments, emerging trends, major releases, awards activity, and other high-interest cultural events.

  • Participate in regular calibration reviews to maintain consistency with published guidelines and align decisions with other curators and team leads.

  • Contribute to overall product quality through consistent queue completion, accurate decisions, high-quality reasoning, precise rewrites, and proactive market discovery.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in entertainment journalism, editorial work, social or community management, or a comparable role requiring strong and current cultural expertise.

  • Demonstrable current knowledge of U.S. entertainment culture across television, film, music, celebrity news, fandoms, and digital culture.

  • Strong awareness of the U.S. media landscape, including which outlets and sources are reliable for breaking news and how to distinguish confirmed announcements from speculation.

  • Sound judgment when handling ambiguous situations such as rumors versus confirmed information, changing release dates, disputed awards outcomes, and revisions to chart methodologies.

  • Ability to quickly interpret multiple sources and reach a defensible, evidence-based determination.

  • Exceptional written communication and editorial precision, with the ability to create clear rules and resolution language that remain unambiguous once an outcome is known.

  • Strong understanding of the distinction between legitimate public-interest coverage and sensitive private-life topics involving real people.

  • Ability to work within established content and editorial policies and escalate uncertain or sensitive cases rather than making unsupported decisions.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working under strict deadlines.

  • Availability for evening, overnight, and weekend work when required around live cultural events.

  • Experience with prediction markets is an advantage.

  • Background in a newsroom, entertainment publication, large-scale social platform, or digital media environment is a plus.

  • Familiarity with content policy, moderation frameworks, editorial standards, style guides, or annotation guidelines is beneficial.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify emerging trends and major cultural moments in real time.

  • Active participation in fast-moving digital communities or fandoms is valued as evidence of genuine, current cultural fluency.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote opportunity with a global working environment.

  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of entertainment culture, editorial operations, AI-powered automation, and emerging prediction products.

  • Direct influence over the quality, relevance, and reliability of culturally focused prediction markets.

  • Exposure to major entertainment events, breaking news, trends, fandoms, and rapidly evolving digital communities.

  • Collaborative environment with regular calibration sessions and knowledge sharing.

  • Opportunity to develop expertise in cultural research, editorial standards, product data operations, and prediction-market workflows.

  • Flexible working arrangements designed to accommodate live events, including evenings, overnight periods, and weekends.
