We \- MT Aerospace \- are part of the OHB Space and Technology Group. As a leading international aerospace company, we develop, manufacture and test essential components for launcher programs such as Ariane, the U.S. Space Launch System (SLS) as well as commercial launcher systems, the Airbus fleet, spacecrafts, satellites and defense applications. Thanks to globally unique manufacturing technologies, we create high\-performance products made of metal and fiber composites, such as large load\-bearing structures and cryotanks, lightweight structures and fuel as well as pressure tanks that combine maximum performance with minimum weight. We currently employ around 600 people at our headquarter in Augsburg and at the launch site in Kourou (French Guiana).

Your Tasks

• Responsibility for liaising between Engineering and Manufacturing or the Supply Chain during the product development process


• Technical leadership role in development projects relating to the manufacturing process


• Coordination of development tasks with specialist departments such as Design, Work Planning, Measurement


• Technology, NC Programming, Manufacturing Development, as well as Purchasing and Procurement Assurance


• Independent assurance of production\-ready and cost\-effective design (Design to Cost) during technical approvals, feasibility studies and change requests


• Responsibility for manufacturability and testability in new projects, both for in\-house production and for the external supply chain


• Development of efficient production lines in close collaboration with industrialisation


• Introduction and promotion of newly developed manufacturing processes and their integration into existing production workflows


• Contribution to quotations and the performance of cross\-departmental cost calculations with regard to RC/NRC costs


• Synchronisation and assurance of compliance of all standards in the construction documentation with customer requirements for both internal and external manufacturing

• A degree in Engineering (TU/FH) or a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (m/f/d) in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a Master Craftsman’s qualification (Technician) with several years’ professional experience or equivalent


• Excellent knowledge of product and manufacturing development, preferably of aerospace products


• Experience with manufacturing and testing technologies for the aerospace industry


• In\-depth knowledge of polymer chemistry or thermal protection


• Knowledge of textile preform technology, fibre\-reinforced composites, infusion, fibre placement or sandwich structures is an advantage


• Knowledge of REFA or Six Sigma desirable


• Excellent knowledge of PLM systems and change management


• Experience with CAD, technical drawings and component tolerances


• Excellent written and spoken English


• Facilitation and teamwork skills


• Independent, structured and goal\-oriented approach to work
