Job Overview

My client is looking for a Mandarin Speaking 2D / 3D Game Art Designer to join a creative game development team.

In this role, you will create, adapt, and optimise high\-quality 2D and 3D game assets, including characters, environments, UI elements, icons, items, effects, and promotional materials.

You will collaborate closely with development and technical teams to ensure smooth asset integration, visual consistency, and compliance across customised and reskinned game versions.

The ideal candidate combines strong artistic ability with technical precision and experience in game asset pipelines and cross\-platform adaptation workflows.

Duties

2D / 3D Game Asset Design \& Production

  • Design and produce high\-quality 2D and 3D game assets, including characters, skins/outfits, environments, item icons, UI elements (buttons, pop\-ups, loading screens), effects, and promotional materials

  • Ensure all assets align with project art direction and visual standards
Asset Adaptation \& Visual Consistency
  • Modify, adapt, and redesign existing assets based on project requirements (reskinning, localisation, or version adaptation)

  • Maintain consistent visual style across all game assets and systems
Engine\-Compatible Asset Delivery
  • Export and optimise assets for game engines such as Unity, Cocos, Unreal Engine, Laya, or Egret

  • Manage asset specifications including resolution, layering, naming conventions, texture atlases, transparency channels, and compression formats
Cross\-Team Collaboration \& Technical Support
  • Work closely with development and reverse engineering teams to resolve visual issues such as missing textures, stretching, misalignment, or rendering errors

  • Ensure accurate in\-game implementation and visual fidelity of all assets
Asset Management \& Workflow Optimisation
  • Maintain organised asset libraries and structured source files

  • Standardise workflows and improve efficiency in asset production and adaptation pipelines
Compliance \& Intellectual Property
  • Ensure all artwork is original or properly licensed

  • Strictly follow intellectual property and compliance guidelines, avoiding any unauthorised or infringing materials
Experience
  • Degree or background in Art, Visual Design, Animation, or a related field

  • 1\+ year of experience in game art design, mobile game production, or reskin/modification projects

  • Strong proficiency in Photoshop; experience with Spine, After Effects, or Procreate is a plus

  • Solid understanding of composition, colour theory, and character/environment design

  • Experience producing game\-ready assets, including slicing, exporting, and atlas creation

  • Good understanding of game asset pipelines and technical constraints (textures, resolution, compression, packaging)

  • Strong communication skills with ability to interpret requirements and deliver work on time

  • Experience working with developers or technical teams is preferred

  • Strong awareness of compliance and intellectual property standards
