Rosewood Schloss Fuschl opened in July 2024, marking Rosewood's second property in Austria. Set on the shores of Lake Fuschl and surrounded by mountains and forests, the resort is housed in a beautifully restored 15th\-century castle with a long history of welcoming distinguished guests.
Purpose is expressed through authenticity of place. As the guardian of one of Austria's most treasured heritage landmarks, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl honors centuries of history while creating enriching experiences rooted in local culture, craftsmanship, and community. Through thoughtful restoration and Rosewood's A Sense of Place® philosophy, the resort connects guests to the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Salzkammergut region.
Located just outside Salzburg, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl features 98 guestrooms, including 46 suites and 6 lakeside chalets, alongside distinctive restaurants and lounges, Asaya wellness facilities, and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Welcoming a sophisticated international clientele, the resort offers a unique blend of heritage, nature, and contemporary luxury.
Operating within one of Europe's most established luxury hospitality markets, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl also serves as an important platform for strengthening Rosewood's presence in the region. YOUR ROLE
As Managing Director, you are accountable for the overall success of Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, leading all aspects of performance, operations, and culture. You will provide strategic leadership for one of Rosewood's most significant heritage properties, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while protecting and enhancing the resort's legacy. Bringing strong commercial acumen and inspirational leadership, you will drive financial performance, foster a high\-performing culture, and build trusted relationships with owners, stakeholders, guests, and the local community, bringing our purpose to life through sustainable results and meaningful impact. HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE PLACE* Drive overall resort performance across financial results, operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and brand reputation.
- Develop and execute the annual business plan, budget, and long\-term strategic vision for the property.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high\-performing executive team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and collaboration.
- Elevate the guest experience through exceptional service delivery, personalization, and consistent execution of Rosewood brand standards.
- Protect and enhance the property's positioning as one of Europe's premier luxury resort destinations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, stakeholders, local tourism partners, and the surrounding community.
- Champion talent development, succession planning, and associate engagement across all departments.
- Oversee asset management, safety, and regulatory compliance while safeguarding the property's historic character and long\-term value.
- Embed sustainability initiatives and Rosewood Impacts principles into both daily operations and long\-term strategy.
- Previous leadership experience in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or the broader German\-speaking market is highly preferred.
- Fluency in German and English is essential.
- Strong commercial and strategic capabilities, with a track record of delivering sustainable financial performance while protecting brand integrity.
- A visible and inspiring leader who empowers teams through clear direction, accountability, and hands\-on engagement.
- Demonstrated success leading heritage, resort, or destination properties with complex stakeholder environments.
- Deep understanding of the ultra\-luxury guest journey, with a passion for personalized service and relationship hospitality.
- Strong people leadership skills with a proven ability to attract, develop, and retain high\-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, building trust across owners, partners, guests, and associates.
- Strong cultural intelligence and appreciation for local heritage, craftsmanship, and authentic sense of place experiences.
